Slide Up

The fastest maintenance option — when your method allows for it.

Extensions Maintenance

A Slide Up is the most efficient maintenance method for compatible extension methods. We loosen the beaded foundation, slide it up to the scalp, and re-secure — no full removal needed. It's quick, gentle on the hair, and ideal for guests on a tight cadence.

Hand-tied extensions don't get removed every maintenance appointment — they get moved up. A Slide Up takes the existing wefts, releases the bead foundation, slides everything back to the scalp, and re-secures. Same hair, fresh placement, no install fee.

It's the fastest, gentlest maintenance option and the one we default to whenever the foundation is still healthy. Less time in the chair, less stress on the hair, and the install keeps feeling like the day it went in.

Every slide up at Mill & Mane is performed by Lauren Noll and built on bond-protecting chemistry, careful sectioning, and the kind of unhurried pacing that most guests tell us they haven't experienced at a salon in years.

Extension guests travel to our Tipp City studio from across the Miami Valley — Troy, Piqua, Vandalia, Huber Heights, and greater Dayton — because a thoughtful install and ongoing maintenance plan is the difference between extensions that protect your hair and extensions that punish it. We keep the day's schedule light around extension appointments so nothing about the install gets hurried.

You'll feel at home in this chair if you're maintenance between full reinstalls and guests who can hold a 5–8 week cycle.

Why it matters ·Skipping past the recommended window is the leading cause of hair breakage at the bead line. The Slide Up exists specifically to prevent it.

The best maintenance is the kind that touches the install as little as possible while keeping it perfectly secure.

What a slide up looks like, start to finish.

Every appointment moves through the same considered sequence — never rushed, never templated. Here's how the time in the chair is actually spent.

  1. Inspect

We check weft condition and scalp health.

  2. Slide

Beaded foundation is loosened, lifted, and re-secured close to the scalp.

  3. Finish

    Cleanse and blowout.

Every slide up at Mill & Mane includes slide-up adjustment per row, scalp check and weft inspection, and cleanse and finishing blowout — all of it built into the price you see, not stacked as add-ons at checkout.

Keeping your slide up between visits.

To protect what we just did, we'll send you home with a quick routine: continue your at-home routine. None of it is complicated — most of it is about doing two or three things consistently instead of ten things sometimes.

Questions guests ask before booking a slide up.

Why isn't this offered for all methods?
Some installation methods — including Hidden Bead — require restitching each cycle for safety and longevity. The Slide Up works for standard beaded-row installs where the foundation can be safely lifted without full removal.
How is a Slide Up different from a Restitch?
A Slide Up leaves the wefts attached and lifts the entire foundation up the natural hair. A Restitch removes the wefts, resets the beads, and resews from scratch. Both keep the install fresh; the Slide Up is faster and gentler when the method allows for it.
How often can I do a Slide Up before I need a Restitch?
Most guests do two to three Slide Ups before a full Restitch, depending on how their natural hair grows and how the wefts are wearing.
How long is the appointment?
About 60–90 minutes per row plus cleanse and blowout. Faster than a Restitch, which is part of why guests on a tight 5-week cadence tend to prefer it.
