A Restitch is a complete maintenance reset: we remove the wefts, refresh the beaded foundation, and resew. It's the gold-standard maintenance and keeps the install looking and feeling like the day it went in.

A Restitch refreshes the foundation that holds your hand-tied wefts in place. Beads loosen, threads relax, and over time the install needs to be re-tied to stay secure and comfortable. This is the appointment that protects the longevity of the wefts themselves.

Where a Slide Up moves the existing install, a Restitch resets it. We unstitch the wefts, refresh the beadwork, and resew the same hair onto a clean foundation. The hair you already paid for keeps performing — that's the entire point.

Every restitch at Mill & Mane is performed by Lauren Noll and built on bond-protecting chemistry, careful sectioning, and the kind of unhurried pacing that most guests tell us they haven't experienced at a salon in years.

Extension guests travel to our Tipp City studio from across the Miami Valley — Troy, Piqua, Vandalia, Huber Heights, and greater Dayton — because a thoughtful install and ongoing maintenance plan is the difference between extensions that protect your hair and extensions that punish it. We keep the day's schedule light around extension appointments so nothing about the install gets hurried.

Every appointment moves through the same considered sequence — never rushed, never templated. Here's how the time in the chair is actually spent.

  1. Remove

    Wefts are unstitched gently.

  2. Refresh foundation

    Beads are reset along the scalp.

  3. Restitch

    Same wefts are sewn back on for a fresh fit.

Every restitch at Mill & Mane includes removal of wefts, foundation refresh (new beads as needed), restitch with the same wefts, and cleanse and blowout — all of it built into the price you see, not stacked as add-ons at checkout.

Keeping your restitch between visits.

To protect what we just did, we'll send you home with a quick routine: continue your normal routine. None of it is complicated — most of it is about doing two or three things consistently instead of ten things sometimes.

Questions guests ask before booking a restitch.

Will I need new hair?
Not usually. Most guests get 8–12 months of wear out of the same hair before considering replacement. We'll flag it at maintenance when the wefts are showing enough wear that a re-order makes sense.
How is this different from a full new install?
A Restitch reuses your existing wefts — no new hair, no new order. A new install is only necessary when the wefts themselves are worn out (usually the 8–12 month mark) or when you want to change length, color, or density significantly.
How long does a Restitch take?
About 90 minutes to two hours per row plus cleanse and blowout. Plan for a longer visit than a Slide Up and a shorter visit than a full install.
Can I stretch past 8 weeks between Restitches?
We don't recommend it. Once the foundation grows out past 8 weeks, the tension on your natural hair increases, and the risk of matting or breakage goes up. Book on the calendar and keep the cadence.
