Full Highlight
A full head of dimensional foiling — typically your first visit with us.
Color Services
The Full Highlight is the foundation service for most new color guests. It's a full head of dimensional foiling that blends multiple techniques — teasy lights, traditional foils, and face-framing brightness — to build a lived-in look that grows out as beautifully as it begins.
Most people don't actually want dramatic color. They want their hair to look like the best version of itself — sun-touched in the right places, soft through the ends, with enough dimension that no one can quite tell where the color stops and their natural hair begins. That's what the Full Highlight is built to do.
We mix techniques on purpose. Teasy lights at the root keep the grow-out soft. Traditional foils through the mid-lengths add the brightness you actually see in the mirror. Face-framing pieces do the heavy lifting for how the color reads in photos. Done together, the result is a head of color that looks intentional from the first wash to month three.
Every full highlight at Mill & Mane is performed by Lauren Noll and built on bond-protecting chemistry, careful sectioning, and the kind of unhurried pacing that most guests tell us they haven't experienced at a salon in years.
Most guests booking a full highlight with us drive in from Troy, Vandalia, Huber Heights, and the north side of Dayton because finding a colorist who will actually slow down — map the lift, respect the previous color, and refuse to over-process — is harder than it should be. Our studio in downtown Tipp City was built specifically to make that pace possible.
You'll feel at home in this chair if you're first-time guests building a new color foundation, returning to color after a long break, and going from a single-process color into dimension.
Why it matters ·Dimensional color is a placement skill before it's a chemistry skill. Two stylists using the same lightener can produce wildly different results because the difference lives in where each foil goes.
If you've grown out highlights before and watched a hard line march down your head, that's exactly the outcome the placement step is designed to prevent. The Full Highlight is the version of dimensional color that's built to be easy to maintain, not just pretty on day one.
“If you've ever grown out highlights and watched a hard line march down your head, this is the service that fixes that — at the placement step, not after the fact.”
What a full highlight looks like, start to finish.
Every appointment moves through the same considered sequence — never rushed, never templated. Here's how the time in the chair is actually spent.
Map your dimension
We identify where to place brightness, where to keep depth, and how the look should grow out.
Foil with intention
Mixed techniques create natural variation — no harsh stripes, no flat highlights.
Tone for your skin
Custom-mixed toner so the finished color flatters in any lighting.
Treat and style
Bond builder, smoothing treatment, and a finishing blowout.
Every full highlight at Mill & Mane includes consultation and color mapping, full head of dimensional foils, custom toner or gloss, bond-protecting treatment, and cleanse, condition, and blowout finish — all of it built into the price you see, not stacked as add-ons at checkout.
Keeping your full highlight between visits.
To protect what we just did, we'll send you home with a quick routine: sulfate-free shampoo and color-safe conditioner, weekly bond or hydration mask, and heat protectant every time you style. None of it is complicated — most of it is about doing two or three things consistently instead of ten things sometimes.
Questions guests ask before booking a full highlight.
- What's the difference between Full Highlight and Full Blonding?
- The Full Blonding is built for maximum brightness — more lift, more foils, more time. The Full Highlight is dimensional and still has natural depth woven through.
- How long until my next appointment?
- Most guests rebook a Partial Blonding or Face Frame Blonding 12–14 weeks out to maintain the lived-in look.
